My R2500 has HI and LO PTO speeds.

I assume LO is 540-RPM and HI is 1000-RPM; is this correct ??

I have a KingKutter L-48-40-XB 48" rotary-mower (bush-hog).

I have been using LO-speed PTO; it does okay, but it seems that it could do better if the blade(s) speed was somewhat higher.

As I was in very tough, very tall, weeds/grass (not brush--it gets mowed every year), I was hesitant to try the HI PTO speed.

Which PTO speed should I use for pasture trimming ??

Thanks.

The low speed. Are you running the tractor wide open?

Pretty much so.

It maybe could go a little more.

I guess it can stand it, right ??

Thanks.
