I have two new PJ Trailer that keep burning the disc brakes up every six weeks.PJ says it not their problem.Alco has replaced the hubs and brakes twice, now they say we must be using the brakes to stop the truck. They are now threw trying to fix the problem,PJ says sorry.Anybody else had this problem we spent 20,000 each for these trailers that are the same and have the same problem. We won't be buying PJ trailers anymore they don't stand behind the trailers.

What kind of tow vehicle are you using?

Two different trucks a freightliner sport chassis and a 2012 Chevy both have had electric over hydraulic brake controlers installed.

Is the trailer under braked? That's the only reason I can see to burn them up that quick.

What do you mean under braked? It has brakes on both axles. You know I have 180,000 miles on the chevy its brakes are still good you would think the trailer would last longer.

I know a lot of people on here have had great experiences with PJ trailers. I have not, in my experience they are are very poorly built and don't hold up at all. Of course my experience comes from working for a landscape contractor too.

Only experience is with drum trailer brakes...

Are the trailers still under the manufacturer's warranty and are they exclusively for personal... non-business use?

If so, most States have very specific consumer protections for unresolved warranty issues.

Maybe part of the problem comes from the hydraulic over electric brake controller, possibly incorrectly installed. Without real and full details its hard to come to a proper conclusion. Can't just bash the PJ trailers as I know of quite a few happy PJ customers.

Sorry to hear about the problems. I'll be watching to learn exactly what is causing the brakes to wear like you're experiencing. My PJ has served my faithfully and without problem one for 3 years. PJ's are generally referred to as premier trailers. Please let us know what comes out of this.

Thanks.
