Water pump is driven by the fan belt, the fan belt should have a maximum deflection of 3/4" at the longest distance between pulleys.
The fan belt provides drive power from the sides of the V belt, NOT the bottom.
The belt should look a little bit- 1/16" wider than the pulleys.
You've already replaced the coolant thermostat.
After the radiator fins are cleaned, hoses feel firm, and radiator cap replaced with the proper pressure rating, the only thing left is the water pump is faulty and should be replaced.

How your fan belt sho;uld fit!

A fan belt, also called a serpentine belt, fits into its pulleys by having a V-shaped cross-section that precisely matches the grooves on the pulleys, allowing it to grip and turn the pulley while sitting flush within the groove, ensuring proper power transfer; the belt should be snug but not too tight, and proper alignment of the pulleys is crucial for optimal function
