Over heated

Hi, I'm using a Massey 4245 with an A4 Perkins. The radiator got clogged externally from dust causing it to over heat and I noticed at the time, it was pushing water out of the red pipe in the picture that goes to the side of the block. When it cooled down ive added water and water has run straight out of that pipe before starting the engine. What is that outlet? Cheers

I can’t tell what I’m looking at. I assume that picture is from above looking at the front of the tractor? I also can’t quite see the end of the hose on the left side of the picture. Maybe a picture from further back would help.

Hey Dave, its from the right hand side near the cab looking up under tha manifold. The hose appears to go from the side of the block under the manifold and drips to the ground under the cab.

Buy a radiator genie to keep your radiator clean. The kit comes with both an air hose and water jet attachment.

I’m still not sure what the hose is but to me it sounds like the other end should be hooked to something, maybe it’s for the heater in the cab. If water runs out of it that’s not right. I’m just guessing the hose blew off or broke when it overheated.

Fair enough, I bought the tractor 18 months ago and have been using it like that (I think) although you have got me questioning myself now I'll go and triple check that it hasn't blown off of some where. Thanks for that.
