Out with the old, in with the new vehicle..

After 9 yrs I sold my 2002 Dodge Ram/Cummins with 71,000 miles today to a friend.. I was only putting 7k miles a year on it, so I got something my wife is more comfortable in so we will take it more often..

I am picking up my new 2012 Nissan Xterra Pro-4x on saturday, in black for those that care..

At least i know who to call if i need to something (which has been hardly ever lately) LOL

Congratulations. That was considerate of you for placing your wife's comfort above everything else. If the need for another vehicle arises in the future, there are probably plenty of used trucks that you can choose from farther down the road. Enjoy your new vehicle and be sure to take a "Road Trip" with your wife and perhaps make a day or weekend out of it. Good times occur few and far in between in Life.:thumbsup:

You should have purchased her a 3/4 ton Yukon XL like mine, wife hates to drive it because it rides like a dump truck, and that's why ours has only 38,000 miles on it....the extra $$ spent for the 3/4 ton model has been recovered at least 10X over by now....:laughing:

well.. based on my needs over the past 3 to 4 yrs - its not an issue.. The truck has been used twice to haul a street-legal race car, for the friend that bought my truck..

I still have a friend with a 3/4 chevy, and a neighbor or 2 w/ 3/4 tons.. My dad has a 1ton dually.. so im sure i can find someone to help me out

That is one part I am not excited about, but the other colors were not appealing to us.. I have had blue and dk gray vehicles before, so I figure I will run it thru the cheap drive-thru wash every week or so..

**** i would have loved your old truck! That was one of the good ones! I didnt realize you were looking for brand new! You take your brand new truck hunting! I dont even like taking our 2001 highlander to the edge of the woods (our new vehicle). I will drive it down a dirt road if not narrow, but my woods road had branches that scratch the paint the whole way!

But i do remember that you said you hunt forest service roads that usually are always super nice and rocked so nothing to worry about.

If i had realized you were buying new i would have suggested buying a new comfortable car and getting a seperate little truck for a few thousand. You would have saved that massive premium that they seem to get these days for SUVs and trucks!

Put it on AirRide. We used to do that for a customer who imported his own USA pickups, here in Holland. He didnt like the ride so we allways installed him a set of air helper springs, which were inflated to the point that they just started to lift the truck from the original springs. Then it would drive smooth as any Euro van.
