Out front mower

I have looked at the skid steer units but they all seem to require a higher hydraulic flow than any CUT can produce plus a very high price. That was why I was looking to find a way to use a trail mower.

I would think as long as the trailmower would withstand the weight of your loader lift arms, you should be able to set something up with some steel tubing and a welder pretty easily. Remember, they are meant to be towed forward, not pushed down on. That would be my only concern.

As for the wheels, the mower deck on our Power Track has castering front wheels and the rear wheels are fixed. It works very well.

As to the advantages of a front mouted mower... they win hands down. Here's a link to my videos page. Scroll down to the bottom to see some videos of our 60" finish mower front mounted on the Power Trac PT425. This may give you some ideas as to how to hook up a trail mower.

I dont have one of these, but I think I'd like one...

Thought it would be very cool and efficient to have a 15' batwing on the back, and maybe a 5, 7' cutter on the front for "trimming" under the Rosebushes

I am going to have to replace my 48" RFM when I get my new tractor and go to a 60 or 72 inch mower. I have not made any measurements but I though I might be able to remove the gear box and mount a 15hp or larger gas engine to power it. Since it is already setup for a 3pt a quick hitch adapter might not be difficult to build.
