ordered me a new dodge eco diesel today

Well I've been looking since I heard about them last year. Today I decided to trade the duramax on a new dodge 1500 eco diesel. Its the laramie edition 4x4. I was torn between white or black. Saw a dark metallic grey while at the dealship an fell in love with it. I sure hopeall the kinks are worked out an that they get as good of fuel mileage as dodge claims. Anyone else already bought 1. I guess a little late to ask about the ugly ha ha

Congrats on your new truck. Be sure to post some pictures when it comes in and do a review when you get some miles on it. Did you test drive one before ordering?

The good news is neither the Eco-Diesel engine or eight speed transmission are new products, just new to the U.S. market. My oldest son is a powertrain engineer at Chrysler and he was on the Eco-Diesel program, he told me there are no surprises. Congratulation on your new truck, you are going to enjoy it.

The excellent fuel mileage will be a moot point after 3 years when all the added exhaust emissions starts failing.
It just won't matter you'll be so PO'd at your clean air gubmint. I hope you voted for clean air sir because you ARE going to pay for it.

The urea pump alone on 6.7 Ford Stupid Diesel costs a grand to replace.
These new Benz Sprinters (same technology) come in for emissions junk constantly and the bills are never less than a grand.

Yes I test drove 2 different models. Also I have a good friend who has already received his. I can't wait until mine comes in. I do a lot of driving with my job. Hopeing the better fuel economy will help.

You are exactly right. I did a good bit of research an they have been using this setup for some time in europe. Exactly why I decided on the dodge eco diesel instead of waiting for the nissan with the cummins.
