sat on my new 4060m traded in a 3130, hst on both, will be delivered next week with a square back bucket not the hd one that came, ii don't need the strength, but the capacity to haul brush,. mulch, etc. a much heavier tractor than the 3130, will miss the tool box, don't care for the external mount of the hydraulic connections on the fel. understand they can be changed for inside mount, as i will never remove it.

I went by my dealer today and ordered a new L4060 HSTC tractor today. It will have the new LA805 loader, 2 rear remotes, 3rd function valve, 3rd function hose quick coupler, 72" bucket, Air Ride seat, and we will be ordering a WR Long OBG2-48 grapple as well.

I will be trading in my B3030 and the new tractor is supposed to be delivered sometime in May.

the 4060 looks like a great setup, congrat! i see that you also have a M5040. both tractors are reasonably close in size/hp (i think) & was wondering what the new tractor can do that the 5040 cannot. hydrostat? again, congrat, bet you're anxious!

How has the 4060 done for you so far? Looks like you've had it for 10 months or so now.

Hi, I just sold my B2920 and am looking to buy either the L 40/60 or 47/60. The upgrade to the 47 is a hefty $5500. I will primarily be doing brush hog work and blowing snow with a front mounted blower. My 1000' drive way has a grade of about 14-16. Do you guys think the 42hp engine will give me plenty of power for blowing snow up hill? I appreciate the feedback.

Are you sure they gave you the right price? When I got the 4240 it was $1500 more to get the 4740. More power will allow you to get the job done faster. Is it worth $5,500 to get your driveway done 2 minutes faster.

For whatever reasons, there's a disproportionately large jump in price from the 4060 to the 4760. From it to the 6060 is only $3k more. It's probably worth considering that if you're making the jump to the 4760 you might as well go all the way to the 6060.

They must not want to sell many compacts above 42hp then:laughing: If you got the L6060 you might as well get a M6060. The M6060 is a few hundred less.

I agree! They are pricing the L60's out of sight... Better to buy a heavier tractor.

By the way.... Where's the OP and a pix of his new tractor?

Is that percent or degrees?

Slope Grade-Angle.png

A 15% grade is 8.5 degrees.

Not very steep, but go as big as you can on a tractor. :D
