Looking at bigger M-series.
The 3 point hitch standard lift and optional heavier 3pt lift.
Is this acheived by adding a second lift cylinder to th 3pt rockshaft?
Can it be added after the fact, or done at time tractor was built.

If you look at an M-135X, there will be an optional lift capacity. Usually it's quite a bit more than "stock" lift capacity. My 7040 has one hyd lift cylinder. My thought was that maybe they add a second lift cylinder to accomplish greater lift capacity. Could you add the second cylinder and hose line after the fact to achieve greater lift capacity? Is it that easy, or is the whole 3pt strengthened at the factory and impractical to do after the tractor is built

Look here on tractor data left column about 1/4 the way down "optional" lift capacity 9447 lbs.

It adds a cylinder on each side. It comes standard on the 12 speed 8540/9540, well now the 60 series models, which I highly recommend ( the 12 speed that is) I'll take a picture in a few minutes.

Great thanks. My real question is: can it be added to a unit that doesn't have it by adding a hydraulic line and a cylinder, or is there more to it than that.

Here is what the back end of my 9540 looks like with twin cylinders. What model are you wanting to add this to after the fact?
