I don't think critter came down with a case of "hydrophY" sp?? (learned the term from the "old Yeller" movie). I think it was having a near mortal fit when my wife went out to see him causing him to froth in the mouth and pass out. We never touched him and that evening we evicted him to a nature trails about 3 miles from our house.

Rubber hose... leaves no marks... stand back because the little possums will fly everywhere... I HATE the ugly critters!

I would stick MY arm in there for Salmon! That must have been quite the site with that possum in the wind on top of your car,,, I'll bet you turned some heads.

I would never feed salmon to the possums. My family loves salmon and I usually get whole salmon.. skin and all. When I fillet the salmon I save parts of the gills and the the skin. I used to save and freeze few bags each with 5-6 oz of skin. They are not plateable to us but totally irresistible to possums specially when they start to go bad. I used a 4" long piece of bailing wire, made a salmon skin cigar by rolling the skin and poke the bailing thru the skin..like that no matter how hard they pulled they could not rip the flesh and ended up deploying the trap release mechanism. Funny thing was once they got trapped and had no where to go they would proceed to eat the salmon skin.
I did not see the pics you were talking about.

By the way.. My neighbors are used to me...they don't mess with me too much.

I usually bait my traps with cat food or fruit rinds.. cat food seems to work best though..
