Kioti DK50SE HST w/FEL, Gravely 60" ZTR Mower. Stihl MS290 (selling), CS261, & FS190 + Echo CS400 & 2010 F-350 6.4 PSD snowplow truck
I was picking up freshly sharpened Chainsaw chains at my Stihl dealer and asked what was on sale for Open House this weekend.

He showed me a Toro ZTR and said he had the 50" deck version (slightly larger than what was on the floor) about to be assembled.

It just happens I'm looking for a new mower.

Please let me know good & bad with this unit.

Thanks in advance,

Be well,
David

We have one and so does our son. This is the second Toro ZTR we have had. The first one was a 52" as I recall. All three have been very good. They cut well and very quickly. The only reason we sold the first one and bought our current 50" is that we wanted a bagging system and our first Toro would not accommodate an add-on kit for a bagger. We bought our current Toro with the bagger included.

I've had 2 Toro ZTR mowers and 2 self-propelled walk behind mowers, but mine, ZTRs, were smaller (needed to fit through a small gate). My only complaint was that the tires could spin and get you stuck on wet grass. My last Toro ZTR also had the bagger.

Hey Bird!!!! My dealer warned me about the wet grass.

I have some serious slopes in the back yard in in another spot by the driveway and I did ask about that.

Thanks for the post.

Be well.

I'd love to see it, can you post a picture sir?

Thanks!

I didn't mean to get two of the same photo, so I'll try again,

Did you look at the online reviews of those at the Toro Store? That particular model looks like a good candidate for a regular type lawn on a regular type lot. IIRC, your sort of classified as a farm, farmette and would maybe be better off served with a commercial type mower?

And you mention, hills, yet that ZTR looks like it has no ROPS.

I will follow your purchase and review, good luck to you.

I had the SS5000 Timecutter and one of the wheel drives was going out. When I researched it, I found this was a common weak area and expensive to repair.
