Opinions on repair manuals

yeah I am having to tear into my Ford 1520. Looking for a good service manual. I have found a few on Ebay. Some on a CD . I have seen the ones from lets say TSC. I and T I believe. If I am going to spend the money. I want the best I can get. So I ask here for you guys opinions.

I'd strongly advise you to get a factory manual. The I&T manuals are not complete and only have a few major repairs described nor do they contain system description that describe how the various system are supposed to operate. The factory manuals are very complete and therefore generally more expensive . I don't know what shop rates are today(~$100/ shop hour?) but being able to do even one minor repair will more than likely pay for the manual.

The CD versions may have all the information, but are a bit awkward to operate with greasy hands. You might consider getting the CD for studying the principles and details, and the I&T as a shop guide. The printed page is bit easier to negotiate with a wrench in your hand, and the cost of the pair will still be far less than the factory manuals.

I can see your point. maybe I can print out the pages as I need them to save my keyboard from getting to greasy.
