Hey guys,

I need your honest opinion about the extra $$ for 3 hp on the b2920.

I will be doing residential snow removal with a front mount 51" blower. I was looking at the b2620 but for $900 more I can get the extra 3hp...

This question is for anybody that owns and uses a front mount blower with this tractor;

Do you wish you ever had the extra 3 hp for this application or is 26hp sufficient??

Future use will include a FEL maybe a hoe, brushog and mid mount mower.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as I am looking to purchase in the next month.

Thanks

I ordered the 51" blower, but it isn't in yet. I'm thinking nobody would have blown any snow with the new B's yet, but I could be wrong. I went for the 2620 because it got me the better FEL. You can easily take $900 hops from tractor to tractor and you have to stop somewhere. I figured if I went another $900 on the 2920, I'd be $900 closer to the next better model. I was convinced I wanted a B3030 cab until I sat in them both side by side. The 2620 just felt right. You'll have to decide if the 3hp is worth the extra dough. I don't think it gets you the ability to operate any bigger implements. Can any of the 2x20 series operate a 5' hog?

I agree. Going up from a 2320 to a 2620 you will get alot more tractor per extra dollar spent. Going up from the 2620 to a 2920 you will only get 3hp gain.

In my opinion the 2620 is the real sweet spot value among the 2x20 line up, hence the reason I purchased it.

I've got to agree with the others who recomend the 2620. I don't see that the 2920 will utilize any implements that the 2620 won't handle.

I have had a B2620 for a couple months now and 2 things influenced my decision. I have the 51" blower but have not used it yet.
1. Dealer recommendation. I went to the dealer with pictures of my 1/4 mile dirt road and asked what I would need for a machine to take care of it. He suggested a 26hp machine.
2. The guy down the street has a BX 22 and he said he would not want anything more powerful. His reasoning was he could get into too much trouble with more power. Seemed wise enough to me.

I have been very happy with the 26hp and have not run up against anything I have not been able to pick up, dig out or pull up ~ yet ~.
I have been able to level out all the piles of debris along the road and move some pretty big stones, haul logs out of the woods that before would have to be cut where they fell and carried out, open up some old logging roads, and get the road in the best shape it has been in in 10 years.

You will be happy with either but $900 is $900 and could go toward the mower.

Have the 2620 with MMM and FEL.. No complaints so far.. Lots of Power for me. Loader strong. Not real sure.. Are the Hydro outputs different between 26 and 29?

As far as the b2620 being the "sweet spot" in the b2x20 lineup is that because you get the upgraded loader from 23-26 hp?

Thanks for the input.

3 hp, bigger loader, bigger tires, more ground clearance, bigger overall dimensions.

I would say do a search on snow removal with the BX tractors. See what those can do and you might consider spending the extra $900 on another implement instead. I looked at a bunch of threads that were talking about SCUT tractors doing stuff. I didn't decide it at the dealership I walked in and I knew what I wanted, because I knew it will handle what I wanted done. I have the older and weaker brother of the 2320 and I'm not the least disapointed.

You asked for it, if one of the primary uses is PTO work which you do have listed the extra PTO horsepower would be a boost! The blower, mower, bush hog, are all things that you would notice the extra horsepower with.

Loader work or grading might be at a disadvantage as you still have the same weight so you might just spin the tires more.

The fact that you might need to mow faster,or blow faster might be enough to get you over the edge.
The blower will work very well like the belly mower as they both are proven models. Tell your neighbors to duck if they see you blowing!
