Operator salary?

Row, for the class A cdl around northwest GA the going rate is 17-18 an hour plus benefits & uniforms. I have a few friends that drive local jobs & that's what they said they are making now. They don't get dirty doin it either. Operator with common sense above the cdl would cost more than that around home. $$ talks & has kept me doin a job I'm not all that in love with a lot longer than I woulda thought it could. If it's in budget, u probably gonna get what u pay for but always could be a surprise

Thanks for the replys all. I have company truck they can drive. Only reason I would like a class a is to drive our semi from time to time, maybe 3 times a month, all local moves less than 100 miles. The class a is not mandatory.
