Does anyone know the operating temps ranges for water and oil for B1550 4x4 with HST?. I want to install some VDO temp gauges, since the factory gauge went toes up.

I would guestimate that water temps should be in the 180-210F range depending on ambient temp and load. When you ask about oil temp, do you mean engine or hydraulic? Hydraulic usually runs about 100F above ambient temperature. Engine oil should be around the low side of engine water temp I think.

B2400. Thanks. I guess a better question for me to ask is:
Would it be a good idea to have a temp gauge for both the engine oil and hydraulics as well as the water. The reason is when using a borrowed 5' brush hog in the past, I observed the water temp getting to the red. Now that the guage is toast, I need to know the range for future use. I suppose one method would be to run the B1550 in the morning and note the temp. Then play it from there. I guess to know the high end (prior to destruction) temps would be best.

And if the hydraulics run 100F above ambient. Is 215F too high?

Thanks.
