On a New Holland TC33 with rear hydraulics is there a default for whether they are open or closed center? Can they be either way?

It's a silly question I know, but the tractor is new to me and I'm not certain what I have. Getting ready to put a 3 pt log splitter in service and the manual has the big warning about getting it wrong and ruining the splitter.

Thanks in advance.

You are a lot more likely to do damage to the tractor's hydraulics than the splitter's. But the folks that wrote the splitter manual care more about their splitter than your tractor.

Your TC has open center hydraulics. This is a system design characteristic and as such is not switchable or something that can be altered easily once a tractor leaves the factory. A spool valve, on the other hand, can often be converted from open to closed center and back by installing or removing a plug or sleeve. Be sure the spiltter's valve is set up for open center hydraulics.
