I recently ordered a 6x20 inch long tool box to replace the factory box, Also two cup holders. When they show up I will post some pics and what the plan will be.

Not related to the topic at hand but have found when the Kioti has it's parking brake applied and running the brake light itself is way to hot to the touch so I ordered two 1157 LED bulbs to replace the factory filament bulbs, Problem solved and no more heat. I will also replace the 1156 bulbs with LED's in the orange flashers mounted on the fenders.

Not to get this thread off-topic, but BethelHntr, you are totally correct about really hot parking brake bulbs. So hot that they melted the housing around them on my tractor. Lucky my dealer had some extra housings from a new tractor that had sustained nearby damage during shipment, and just gave 'em to me for free. Good service! Anyway, I replaced with the same as you -- LED bulbs. The chain auto parts stores carry them. No trouble since. (There's a thread w/ pics here somewhere.)

That's not good but I'm happy to hear you caught it before something worse happened like a fire, It's really a small amount of room for all that heat.

Thanks CM. That won't work for me, since I've already used those bolt holes on the loader frame for arms supporting my homemade canopy. (Visible in this thread: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kioti-owning-operating/282832-dk45s-canopy-advice.html )

Still on the lookout for the perfect toolbox idea. And chainsaw mount. I want to rip that little tiny OEM box off behind the seat. Maybe an ammo box mounted there? My DK45 has 555 hrs now and the seat is falling apart (any good recommendations?), but everything else works fine.

See my recent thread about open station chainsaw mount: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kioti-owning-operating/292256-dk-40-50-open-station.html It should work for you too.
What's up with your seat?
You should be able to mount an ammo box behind the seat, BUT if you use a backhoe it will interfere.

Thanks, CM, I did see you chainsaw mount and thought about it. Looks good.

Plastic/vinyl seat is all ripped from being out in the sun and weather before I could get the barn built. OEM seat from Kioti dealer is very expensive. Yes, I have a backhoe, and use it a lot, so the toolbox mods behind the tractor seat usually interfere w/ the backhoe seat.

What year tractor do you have? The seat may be a warranty item- if you have a recent tractor year. I've never heard of the sun damaging one of the OEM seats?!:confused2: Do you live on a planet closer to the sun than the rest of us?:shocked:
Can you post some pics of the damage?
If Kioti dealer can't fix whatever it is under warranty- I may know of a company that does automotive seats, takes cloth, for instance and replaces it with leather, and such mods- that may be a way to go.
Also check out my recent post about backhoe flatblade 'bra'.

Well the cup holders showed up so after some him'n and haw'n the pro's vs the cons I decided to go for it, I know this may be sacrilege for some but the lack of amenities for me was the deciding factor. After a bit of planning and looking things over I scratched out a circle of where I thought they would work best.

A 3 5/8 hole saw would work the best.

Then a bit of sanding the rough cut hole.

The cup holders fit like a glove and will be a real nice addition.

There is plenty of tire clearance under the fender.

Over all it ended up being a very easy task and will be real useful.

GO SEAHAWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone that tells you that drilling holes in your tractor's fenders is sacrilege is a douche. The cup holders look great.
Just checking, but did you notice that you had one behind your draft and 3ph levers? Cause you do have one there, too.

Thanks gunmonkey, I appreciate your kind words. One cup holder isn't enough for a thirsty guy like me ;)
