Problem with that thing ….is wherever it moved to might be its resting place forever. Which would be kind of a pain in the middle of a jobsite.

Yeah. I think we've all heard that one. Has one of those disassembled 'deals' ever included 100% of the parts?

Those are the ones that get to me. Excellent condition, ran great, but can't start it now because it doesn't have a battery or some small part. The seller is just to busy to replace the $10 part so it will run again.

Most common thing I see is "runs, just needs carb cleaned". If that's it, wouldn't you clean the carb. We have a "swip-swap for men" here. It's mostly mud trucks, mud mowers, 4 wheelers, ect. And a ton of the dirt bikes and 4 wheelers say that

Yes. My favorite is "It used to run." Well, didn't everything run at one point?

Same with "It was ran when we parked it." Yes, everything ran when it was parked. Otherwise, you couldn't have parked it.

Along the lines of this thread - are there some general websites run like newspaper classified where the advertiser has to pay a SMALL fee to advertise?

I dare say 10% of the cr@p advertised on CL would disappear if they charged a dollar an ad. Especially all the ones selling HF freebies for $6.

That depends on if the bank has that much cash on hand (good luck getting out more than $6-8k in cash) from most banks.

Exactly, $5k can usually happen, $10k occasionally and more than that generally requires you give the bank a heads-up by a few days. But I do agree a cashiers check pulled in the bank with the seller watching the buyer pull it has to be as good as cash.

I bank at a fairly small Credit Union in a small town. I have regularly pulled out under $10,000 without a problem. I have on occasion pulled out $15,000 without a problem. When I needed $25,000 I had to give them a couple of days. Any bank/credit union that I couldn't get a quick $10,000 in cash from is one that no longer has my business.

Speaking of credit unions and extracting cash, ours won't let you take out more than $5000 per transaction. Something to do with preventing threatening criminals from forcing you to pull out lots of cash- or so they say. Makes it a PITA to get the $17000 you might need to buy something. 3 trips may be required. Or, have the wife get a pile, you get a pile, and they she gets another. Hmmm...
