Is it me or have the prices on these gotten ridiculous? A few years back I bought several various firearms on gunbroker.com and thought they were reasonably priced, all things considered. Lately though it seems inundated with places just trying to list their new inventory at retail + prices; and after tacking on their shipping fees, and the receiving FFL charges it's not even worth trying. They say "no reserve" yet their "opening bid" on a blued GP 100 before shipping costs is more than what I paid for my Ruger SS locally, out the door. I've been trying to find a used made in USA .410, but those are going for more than what I paid for my Savage 94 12 and 16 gauge shotguns from Gunbroker a few years back, combined.

I bought a couple .22s from my best friend's estate auction; all in all I paid about $700 for a Winchester model 74 (made in 1942) and a 10-22 with a scope made in 1968. I wouldn't have bought either one, but for the fact they belonged to my buddy, and we used to hunt together back in the early 50's, and he used the old Winchester.

Me, too. I have my grandfather's 20 gauge, my father's .22, and my late brother's 870 Express. What I hunt with though is my 28 Gauge NEF, my Mark II, and my 30-30.

I don't know much about guns, but I have a Winchester model 1894 30/30 that came down through the family. It needs refinishing but fires fine.

Are US made 410 shotguns still being made in the US, who makes them and what do they sell for? I know knowing about this type of gun.

What is the best price you can find for a US made .410 shotgun and how does it compare to gunbroker?

I just looked online at stuff I'd normally look at, and nothing sticks out as being stupid. The reality is you also have to know the market and what people "think" they can get for a gun.

Generally when I buy online, I use my local state firearms internet forum (classifieds) and have had no issues with Armslist (just have to know how to smell a scam a mile away if your shipping and it's not a FTF). Gunbroker I've found generally isn't the cheapest unless you look long and hard and come across somone wanting to get rid of something. I see gunbroker as being a "premium" because for shipping across state lines, there is a STRONG indentification process so you generally aren't going to be scammed.

I would not refinish it, leave it as is.

Speaking of made in USA .410's I've still got the first gun my parents ever got me. It's a Stevens model E pump .410, they bought it from a friend for $60, I was about 12 years old. That was 32 years ago.
