All;

I searched the forum with my limited tractor vocabulary and didn't find an answer or guidance on finding the problem, so I thought to create an account and post my question.

I am not quite sure what they are called, but my question is with the two plates or braces that are at the end of the loader arms that perform the tilt function.

The left side (from the drivers perspective) on my 4300 moves at 1/2 the speed or less than the right side. I only noticed this when I disconnected the bucket for the first time to put on pallet forks. Hopefully this is simple.

Please ask if you need anything at all. I am grateful to have a place to go to ask questions and hopefully contribute.

Thanks,

~moses

I made this short video of the front end loader operating so you can see what the problem is.

John Deere 4300 - Slow loader tilt on one side - YouTube

I also noticed the center cross bar, doesn't rotate until the faster side is finished. Normal? Or have anything to do with it?

Hi! The 2 dump cylinders you are referring to are plumbed together with one hydraulic line. When unhooked from a bucket or forks etc, basically they will fill with fluid and extend on their own. When they get reattached to something they have to fill together because they are basically tied together. Also, after watching your video, notice how the slow cylinder gets "faster" once the faster one is fully extended? It's because then all of the fluid is going to the slower one. Hope this helps you out. You have nothing to worry about.

I agree, nothing to worry about. On an industrial machine, I have four cylinders in parallel, and it is fun to watch the gyrations they go through in the completely unloaded portion of their travel...lots of stops and starts and slowdowns and speedups, but when the time to work comes, they perform just fine.

When a piston packing goes bad, it is no longer fun.

My jd 2320 and 2305 are the same.

Excellent! I appreciate the responses.

That makes me feel quite a bit better. I tried to explain it down at the JD reseller to a parts guy, and he wasn't quite sure what it was and was suggesting grease as the simplest solution or even a new cylinder at worst. So, glad to see it is normal.

Thanks,

The cyl with the least resistance will operate first. If the resistance becomes equal, they both will work together.

Ah, that is some great wisdom. Being new to hydraulics, but I definitely understand that.

Thank you,
