Went to the dump today to unload a carport I am tearing down the build a new shop/garage (post on that to come) and I SCORED! I look next to me in the metal dumpster and there is a nice looking Husquavarna 345 laying on top of the pile. So I grab it and throw it in the truck thinking, what is the worst that can happen? If the motor is blown I have always wanted to rebuild a chainsaw. Well I get home, throw some gas in it and BAM! fires right up!! No $h!t!!!! It has a gas leak, but by my VERY quick inspection I believe there is a hose missing from the gas tank. I can look down on the side and there is a nipple without a hose coming off it. So yeah, I have always said, my favorite kind of chainsaw is a free chainsaw! Have a good evening gentlemen!!View attachment 653247
Good find! We used to do this kind of thing all the time. We'd go out looking on big item trash pickup days to see what was available.
Now cleaning out the garage with carriage house next. Got the trash bin almost full from the garage and some metal in a box for recycle.
Sorry, no Husquavarna, but I put an old 12" chain in the metal box. It doesn't work on the new Stihl MSA-120.
