One BIG Tractor

Anyone see the Big Bud tractors on Classic Tractors on RFD-TV? 1000+ HP pulling an 80' cultivator. Said they could do 400-500 acres on a normal day or 800-900 if they really pushed it. Amazing machines.

Your refering to the 16V-747 I think, it is actually only 900hp and I think was hooked to a Friggstad field cultivator. It is the largest tractor produced that I know of and Big Bud only made one of them. The 8 tires on it were special built for it and only 8 were ever made.

Wouldn't be to practical here in Lancaster County PA unless you were going to cultivate houses. Say that might not be such a bad idea,the things are sprouting like weeds/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Attached is a picture of a tractor I stumbled accross on the internet somewhere. It is by no means as monsterous, but it sure is a unique one. Some of you may have already seen it.
I do not know any of the details on it, other than the owner took 3 of the same tractor and merged them into 1.
If he had taken the time to talk with MChalkley, he could have just bought an EarthForce and saved himself a lot of work. LOL

Years ago a local farm family purchased a Big Bud,not as big as the one pictured,but still a BIG tractor.Not long after taking delivery on the unit, the Company wanted to know if they could "borrow" the tractor to take it to the American Royal Farm Pavilion in Kansas City,for the annual Farm Show.
The company came out and removed the duals,a truckload in itself,loaded the tractor on another trailer and headed to K.C. Story has it that the driver that was hauling the tractor became tied up in traffic and could'nt get onto the proper exit off the freeway.A little farther down 1-35 he tags an overpass at 55 m.p.h. Completely rips the cab off the tractor,along with all the electrical and hydraulic lines and everything else that is in or on the cab.
Needless to say,the owners were not real happy,the company replaced the Bud with a new one,and promised never to borrow the tractor again.
