OMG, already thinking of winter

We just returned from a 5 day back-woods adventure in the Porkies state park cabin located here in the UP of MI. We've done this maybe 6 times in the past, that is, hike into to a cabin and stay there in November. This year was particularly snowy. Do note, if this was serous snow, we'd be skiing. At these cabins, you need to cut your wood for heat and cooking. Of course there is no power at them. Here are some photos, I think are nice. The dog in the last photo is a snow dog. She's alive and happy, when she can be laying in it.

I harbored illusions of still pressure washing a bunch of stuff and painting. So much for that. Winter has arrived!

Yeah, we're 25F degrees below normal today. Picked up our third snow this morning.

Too cold (-6c) for me to think of putting on my snow tires. Means I have to go on a road trip tomorrow with my BALD tires.

That's when you realize you live "up north". When you have snow tires that you swap on/off your vehicle.
