That's interresting information! You are right about the deck! I'm going to miss it!
BTW what condition is your deck in? Mine really needs some work or maybe replaced completely. The shell is cracked all around the front middle mounting bracket and the rotors (were the nives are attached) are starting to desintegrate (sp?). Everytime I clean it, theres some white stuff comming from those rotors... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Now that I know that those decks were used on several mowers, it might be easy to find a replacement! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I believe the spindles are made of aluminum, and that's probably where your "white powder" is coming from. It may be aluminum corrosion due to electrolysis between the deck and the spindles. My deck had lots of rust and holes, but when I removed the cover, it was packed with rotting grass and I'm sure that's the reason the deck was failing. You can repair a deck by welding on new sheetmetal and remounting the spindles. I have another mower deck that was repaired that way. On the bottom of your spindles, you should have grease zerks. I grease mine often when in use and my spindles are as tight as a new deck. What is your LT145 worth? My guess is that it will relate to how many were sold and how rare they are these days. I'm sure my Oliver wouldn't be worth much if it weren't so rare. Jim, thanks for the link. You metntioned that and I kinda didn't go there, and there I found out I'd been there before!
