I borrowed a 64 oliver grain drill from a buddy to plant some sudan hay. How do I adjust it, or set it. There is a seed chart under the back lid, just want to know where to go from there. It looks like it adjusts on the transmission.

Thanks,

Jason

Not sure where it is located on the oliver/superior drills but on the JD/van Brunt there is a slide lever that that will have notched numbers on it. As you move the lever you should see the gates slide in the grain box. Set the lever to the corresponding number that it recommends for that particular seed and you should be good to go.

Lee if you need a chart I can email it to you send me a pm. I have not figured out how to post pictures yet.

Olivers adjust by changing settings on a transmission on the planter, they are metered. Not by changing hole sizes.

I found the nut on the front of the transmission which engages and disengages the transmission and set the seed rate from the chart by sliding the indicators to the correct gear.

Is there anyone familar to tell me how to make sure the indicators are set correctly on the shift rods and someone has not moved them on the set screw?

I am ordering a book that will be here in a few days.
