I have an electric start Troy Bilt Pony that I have taken care of like a baby. Somehow the forward link (part #20517-01) fell off. When I found it in the garden, it was bent horribly. The clevis pin (#9340) and the hairpin cotter (#9338) must have fallen out. I have searched and searched but everyplace listed on the internet shows the parts as unavailable. Bent the old link as best I could hoping it will work. Unfortunately, the shortest clevis pin I can find is 1/4"x3/4" which won't work as it is about 1/4" too long. My wife said just buy a new tiller...some people. Total of these parts are probably $10 plus shipping, if only I could find them.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Im sure a welding shop could fab up a new link , maybe cut the clevis pin off enough to fit.

If you were able to bend the link back to shape well enough and the only thing missing is the pin, get a longer pin, cut it to the right length and drill a hole for the cotter pin where you need it. Hold the pin in a small vise or even vise grips and use a drill press. It will help if you grind a small flat first so the drill bit doesn't want to wander on the curved surface. If you also need a new link, make one. Hacksaw and files will work for a simple one-off like that.
