Today while digging out a oak tree stump, my hydraulic system started leaking fluid like a rain storm while using my older Case 580K Backhoe. When moving the backhoe to level ground my steering became difficult. My guess is I blew a main seal OR ??
I dont have a manual, so where do I Start. First I will get under the old gal and see if I can detect where the leak orginated.. all suggestions and hel is appreciated.

There's a hydraulic hose, a large one that goes from the pump to the steel line on the left side of the frame. Most likely it dry rotted and burst. Don't run the engine as you will destroy your hydraulic pump if it doesn't have oil! That hose has to be the exact same length as the old one (even 1/4" too long or short will not work). It's not too hard to get at but be prepared for plenty more oil to leak out (assuming you didn't loose it all). Because it's larger than normal you may have a problem finding the correct fittings if you go to an automotive parts store to have a new hose made up. My suggestion would be a place that deals with large equipment.
