I just bought a pretty new drum mower, a Massey # 3 baler, and an old Massey rake to bale the couple of acres of hay I ahve for the soon to be horses. I baled 15 bales the other day and everything did ok after a little tweeking. My question is can I convert the hale baler to a PTO driven. It has the old Wisconsin two cylinder motor on it. That thang is a pain to get restarted after a little use. Also would like to find an owners manual for it. Thanks! TC

If you are pulling the baler with a JD 2720 your best bet is to leave the baler as an engine driven unit. A compact tractor that size would be marginal at best power wise, and the lunging of the baler could wreck the PTO and driveline on a small tractor.

I agree with Verticaltrx. Keep the Wisconsin and fix the problem with that engine. Sounds like a simple carburetor adjustment or a carb rebuild is all that's needed.

Agco handles Massey Ferguson products. Look at their publications website for manuals

Good luck.
