I purchased property that had an old Deere 310A backhoe on it. (Late 80’s, early 90’s) It hasn’t run in about 12 yrs . After some work on injector pump I managed to get it started.. everything seemed to work, will need a lot of TLC. The engine sounded fine… only major issue I saw was the clutch was slipping som going up hill…
Could the slipping be because of rust on the pressure plate…. If not how hard of a job is it to replace the clutch. Cost?? I don’t want to invest too much money or time in that old of a machine..

Does clutch pedal have any free travel before throw-out brg is touched? Does this tractor have a hyd reverser? If so I suggest to change hyd filters & clean hyd oil suction screen(item 30).

There is some free play in clutch, hard to tell if it’s worn linkag. How do I know if it has a hydraulic reverser?
It seemed to run ok on flat ground but was slipping going up hill

If there is a handle on LH side of steering wheel that is control for hyd reverser. One can check pressure on control valve on RH side of clutch housing.
