OK, so how old is it?

Hi guys,

I want to insure my TU155 and the insurance company want to know how old it is. I told them that all I had was that it had done 450 hours, but they want an age.

Any ideas? I know a little more about boats, and on most outboards you can tell a lot about it from serial number. Is there anything similar with these? Is it stamped on it anywhere???? Is there a "manufactured from xxxx year to yyyy year?

Sometimes there is a date stamped on the wheels. Some people state that that's not a date but it sure looks like one to me. Assuming your wheels are the ones that came with the tractor when new, you can go by this.

Checked the wheels and it says 11 87
As you say - looks like a date to me, too!

A dealer here on the site sent me a copy of a book from Japan. It is like the ones here in the states that you can check a tractor's specs. It has weight, measurements, etc. It also has the years of manufacture. So far all the tractors I checked using the wheel date have been within the years listed in the book for that model.

The wheels on my TU220F are marked 9 84 so I guess that makes mine a 1984 model, and still going strong

Hi Joe,
With the wheels dished INWARDS, ie the "narrow" setting, it's on the flat bitabout 3/4 from the hub to the rim. Would be easily covered by a few layers of paint...

My TU is on the "Wide track" setup and I just leaned under it and had a look. All the usual safety disclaimers apply... Good luck!
