Ok, so how much work can a BX24 Do?

I was just wondering how much machine the BX24 is? Really! Are they really as tuff as everyone seems to say or not? And what jobs have you done with yours? I am thinking of buying one mainly because of the BH

My buddy graded and graveled his 1900' driveway with his. He has also built ponds, put in power lines, water lines, and numerous other tasks. They are a great machine given their limitations.

I know this has been a topic of hot debate, but does the BX24 have true Cat1 3PH. I know the 3Ph lift capacity is around 600-700 lbs but will the arms spread enough to accept true Cat1 implements? 26 inches I think!

The BX24 had the 3pt redesigned to raise the height and making it a true Cat1. The arms will spread far past 26 inches

I can say first hand, you can dig them out, and you can push them around, but you can't pick them up very easily, and if you do, you won't get them very high. The loader has a capacity of about 400 pounds, and the rocks that are in those pictures are probably closer to 1000 pounds or more. The BX22/23/24 is a very capable machine, but don't expect it to be equivalent to some of the larger machines out there. If you have patience, it will do most of the work that you throw at it, but it might also take you 10 times as long. I have seen and heard of people digging out stumps that size, but it seems that no one ever mentions how long it took. I can see them working on a stump like the one pictures, 10.. 20.... or even 30 hours, where a larger machine might only take an hour at best. I consider myself a experienced backhoe operator, and I know that the one that I dug out, took me way too long to do, so I never tried another. Now, I just have them ground in place.

If it fits in the bucket, it will lift it.. I agree with that huge boulder being pushed around. I have found myself flipping them instead of pushing them due to them digging themselves into the ground. BH is slow to start but works well after ground breaking. Important to remember to dig a bit farther from the stump as to avoid the larger roots. I start about 2ft out and work inward. By the time I reach the center, the stump it out. 18" tree took about an hour and 15min.

I know I'm in the wrong forum here (I bought red, plus the case forum gets about a post a month) but................The one thing I didn't see was what the total size of your property was. You may want to consider this before the purchase just from personal experience. My first tractor purchase was a decision between a BX23 and a DX24. My dealer carried both. I went with the DX because of the higher ground clearance and bigger tires. The tractor did everything I planned on using it for but soon realized that all of the extra uses I found were too much. Yes, it did it all, slowly, but was soon bordering on abuse. After a year and a half with the 24, I'm now the proud owner of a DX33. Not even close in size to my original purchase. Would have saved a lot of money if I started out with the DX33. Good luck.

The BX 24 and it's non-hoe brothers do have a new hitch assembly compared to the older BX's and it is a full Cat 1 hitch compared to the older O-1 hitch previously used.

The new BX24 has a higher lifting point, however the linkage on older BX models would spread well past 26". I have had my BX1500 arms 29" apart. The problem comes when talking about max lift height.
