Price Check OK, Got Some Numbers - Thoughts?

Hey all,

Visited my local JD dealer Saturday armed with info from here and the JD site. Dealer was great - very informative and friendly, let me drive the 2520 around the lot and no pressure to buy at all! Here's what he came up with:

JD2520 / R4's - $14,900
200CX FEL, 61" bucket, grill guard, ballast box, bucket level indicator - $3,150
54" quick hitch snow blower - $3,275
62D MMM w/independant lift - $2,800 or Woods RD60 RFM $2,050
iMatch Quick hitch - $299
Woods LR72 rake - $799 or Delta 6' drag harrow - $475
Forward lighting $127

There were also some "required" mounting kits & brackets totaling $182 and 60 bucks if they welded a couple of hooks onto the bucket for lifting purposes.

I'll be heading back to make a deal once I've made my mower and rake/harrow decisions. Anything here look out of whack or "OMG - get down there immediately and buy it before he changes his mind"? I've only bought cars, trucks and bikes before so are tractor dealers into negotiating heavily or just "well, I can take another 100 bucks off but that's it"?

The snow blower is a 3PH type...you could do a lot better aftermarket for a larger (60") snowblower.
Same applies to those other 3PH implements.
$60 for welded hooks is about right...

As far as the price of the tractor and loader, let's see what other 2520 buyers have to say.

Tractor and FEL price is in line with what my quote is from the local guy. I am in the market for a TLB, so can't help with the other stuff. My quote was just over $24k total, I'm on the fence between that, a used 3320 setup the same for an advertised price of $23k or a different brand all together, some of which are several thousand cheaper.

Also don't forget to minus the $1,000 off through John Deere if you buy 2 or more attachments.

Didn't price a FEL or I match.

If you want even a longer term you might have to pay dealer fees.
0% for 60mos and above would cost the dealer a few (or more) percentage points (what they call "dealer participation") of the total amount financed.

0% for 60 mos add 2.5% to total financed. 0% for 72 mos add 5% to your total financed. So say the total you were going to finance was $19,000 you would pay $19,950 (extra $950.00) for the 0% for 72 mos.

JD also has a 1.9% for 60mos or a 2.9% for 72mos with no dealer participation fees.

I just signed papers 3 weeks ago for a 2520. 14,000 for the tractor-2800.00 for the 200cx loader with 61'' bucket with level indicator, grill guard comes with the loader, I already have a ballast box. 54'' front quick hitch snowblower with angle cylinder for my plow blade I have,3232.00. No mmm, I bought a x530 for mowing. All necessary attaching parts included in pricing with jd rebate taken off the tractor. Also got a hardsided curtis cab. Went with the 0-36months.

Thanks for all the responses, guys. Looks like my numbers were all on the high side of what every else was quoted. The dealer is very aware of this forum site so I'm thinking I can go in with the numbers you're getting and see what he says. I imagine the price structure also depends on where in the country you are too.

I'm still debating the snowblower. We got hit hard this year but it's not usual for us to get two or three major storms (a foot or more) within a month. May just skip the blower for now and keep the Ariens I already have unless I can negotiate a really good deal.

So now I'll pick my options and head on back and see how much haggling they'll do. If anyone else has any numbers, please post 'em.

If you want to avoid the "Well, that's a good price for that area - but, in this part of the country..." visit another local dealer.

Got anybody within 30 minutes driving time?

According to the JD website dealer search, there are 10 dealers within 50 miles of me, 5 of which are within 25 miles; 3 of those 5 are "Gold Star" dealers. So it would seem there's plenty of competition. The dealer I went to happens to be the closest and was recommended by friends who have bought there (they're also a gold star dealership). Probably would be a good idea to take a ride on the weekend and see what the other dealers have to say. Thanks for the idea!
