So got my new to me 3000 put away, waiting until all the manuals I ordered for it come in. The seller/restorer I bought it from claims it's all new oils and filters, but I still want to go through it myself before it gets any real running time.

So, I'm thinking the manuals will be based off fluids that were available in the 60's and 70's, so I'm looking for opinions on what grades I should run in everything.

I run synthetic in all my stuff, not to increase change intervals, but for the cold starting up here. But this Ford will not be run in the winter and I'm thinking I want to stay away from synthetics in it, as they say the synthetic cleans old deposits and can cause leaks?

What's grades are everyone running in the engine and hydraulics?

I've always used Shell Rotella 15w-40 in my 3000. I'm in Virginia with mild Winters and I do use mine year-round.

Okay perfect. I always have Rotella or Petro Canada Duron here.

I did more searching and see the trans/rearend and hydraulics say to use UTF? I think it said 134D spec?
Is my Kubota Super UDT the same as that?

IMHO the synthetics causing oil leaks is an old wives tale, I have changed everything I own over to using the newer better lubricants an have not had an engine leak or use more oil than it did before on dino based lubricants. That said most folks, it seems, use Rotalla in the diesels.

For the hydraulics, Ford spec is the 134D (basically a 5W30 with additives) but I have yet to see many "UTF" that did not meet that specification. It is my understanding (and I could be wrong) that the Kubota Super UDT2 is a synthetic blend (5w20) that meets the newer thinner oil spec used in later model tractors.

I fell in love with my Ford, but watched a video and saw where the hydraulic filters are.......what a stupid setup that is! LOL

Luckily the new rear remote valve they put on top of the trans is leaking a bit, so I'll have to take it all off and reseal anyway.
