This has leaking for a long time on my Satoh 650G, but I just had the frame cleaned and can now see clearly where the oil is leaking from. See attached pic.

Do I just need a new oil cap? Or this indicative of a different (larger) problem?

It would be my guess it just needs an o-ring on the cap to seal it better. If oil is getting out there it means water can get in. The oil is being splashed around in the gearbox (no pressure) and some is oozing out there. I'm not familiar with your tractor so can't help with how to check the level of oil but make sure it's filled correctly and not overfilled. Good luck.

My guess is the vent on the gear box is plugged and when the oil and the air in the gearbox heats up, it's pressurizing the compartment. Find the vent and make sure it's clear or you'll be pushing oil out of seals too.
