Oil is NOT a fossil fuel and AGW is non-science

This has been pretty much what I've thought for some time. The theory that oil comes from dinosaurs, and decomposing plants from that era never made any sense to me. The theory in this article makes perfect sense to me.

I agree 100%

I have been telling people oil is a renewable resource, with the right technology it will be just as renewable as trees. I saw an article where scientist made oil from compressing and heating trash to expel the oils from it.

Here is a quote from that great article that sums it up pretty well:
The current US energy strategy, driven by the erroneous beliefs that oil is a fossil fuel and that its supply will soon be exhausted, and that burning coal causes global warming, is illogical. Given the fact that oil is abiotic and is in continuous production deep down in the earth’s crust, at rates far in excess of what mankind could ever conceivably consume, it makes absolutely no sense for any nation to buy it from foreign sources if it is cheaper to drill for and pump its own – and that is precisely what the US should be doing immediately, without ever needing to go near the wildlife reserves in Alaska.
If the US switched from being a net consumer in the world oil market to becoming a net supplier, the price of oil would plunge, perhaps to around $US30 per barrel, with the result that the world’s economies would boom as never before. Most importantly, people would have confidence to invest in their futures, safe in the knowledge that oil would never run out. An extra bonus would be that the US military-industrial-political complex would no longer feel the need to use military force to control the Middle East’s oil supplies, and neither would any other world power.

Good Mornin Eddie,
Very interesting read !

I hope more people start reading that article, mostly because the price of gas has creeped up in just the last few days ! ;)

The other good news is that I finally got an oil delivery job with a local company, so it looks like I wont be running out of oil to deliver any time soon ! ;)

Great article... thanks for posting!

I know a few sheep who will get their feathers ruffled over this! ;)

It is a good interesting article,
But the thing to remember is like Einstein said "just one fact was all that was needed to invalidate his theory of relativity" that is true of the origin of oil, we dont know for sure.
Main point-- man is not MAKING the oil just extracting and refining from natural sources. And even if everyone reads the article and accepts it as truth I dont see any wars ending because of it. greed will prevail

You'll be the guy I hear about 'skimming' a little off each delivery to fill his own heating oil tank?? ;):D

A few years ago I read this article:

Wired 8.07: Fuel's Paradise

in which it is proposed that oil is a biological byproduct from deep in the earth. Either theory sounds plausible to me. Certainly changes the geopolitical map if oil is no longer 'black gold'.

Back in the mid 90's or so I had a job where I did ride-alongs with Texaco drivers picking up oil in California. I learned that in the Firestone Vineyard in CA there is a geothermal 'hotspot'. This hotspot acts as a refinery tower, the oil they were taking out of this well was basically diesel... they called it 'blins' (or something similar). They said if you ran it through a filter you could run it in your truck. Since all oil is the same in the pipeline this pre-refined stuff really didn't have any extra value. We would pick up a load of it and take it to another well site with thick, low grade oil and pump it into a holding tank. They would inject it into the well to thin and 'wash out' the thick stuff. Seemed like kind of a waste.
