Hi helpers,
I am getting oil in radiator and overheating very quickly under load.
No coolant in oil. I figure head gasket or cracked head but have been told oil coolers can leak oil into radiator. Does anyone know if this model had an oil cooler? There is not one obviously on side of block, and find no reference to one in the parts manual.

Please advise

On the surface it sounds like a gasket.....are there bubbles in the water when it is running? Compression check? Water in oil? Hopefully it is a simple fix (gasket) and not something more serious. Good luck

Welcome to the forum & hope we can help find your problem. Any chance the water pump has a seal to the engine compartment? Had this arrangement in on old SAAB car engine. The water pump was driven by a shaft geared to the camshaft. Bottom end of shaft drove the oil pump; top drove the water pump. Distributor was on a different shaft. Drove me crazy with oil in the coolant until I discovered the o-ring betweem the pump & block was leaking. Compression test was fine, so I knew it wasn't a head leak.

I'd suggest checking radiator pressure with a gauge. I looked in the M4950DT parts catalog and saw no engine oil cooler so I'll guess bad head gasket or cyl head.

Your main concern is the overheating. This is most likely being caused by the cooling system becoming air-locked, but from what? Chances are there is a combustion leak into the cooling system. The absolute quickest way to tell is by checking for CO2 in the radiator. ANY CO2 is from combustion gasses coming from a leaking gasket or cracked, porous metal casting. Check this video this is the same device we use very accurate and quick. The oil is a by-product of the leak, once you find the combustion leak that will solve the oil problem also. Sounds expensive! Good luck.
