Definatally an old thread. But I will add that napaonline.com has an excellent interchange function also.

Manytimes when searching for seals or bearings or something and I only got the MFG part #, and google dont turn up squat, napaonline usually always comes through.

The Napa cross reference for your New Holland part number 87415600 is NAPA GOLD # 1348
I just got one yesterday and changed my oil today.
Napa is made by WIX

I use the Napa Cross reference frequently. Love that tool and it saves me a bunch of money. I really like my local NH dealer but I just can't pay 3 times the amount for a filter. I used the hydraulic oil from Napa and really liked it too.

A bit off topic but not too much. What factors would make a particular brand X filter unsuitable? I understand that thread sizes, physical filter size and that sort of thing would be nonstarters but if it X refs to the original filter why wiouldnt it be safe to use?

My friend owns a Mercedes/ BMW shop and gets cars in with low budget oil filters that are collapsed because they are so crummy they can't handle the flow volume. That would sure slow down your hydraulics, never mind engine life. I always buy the best of anything I get and it is still a crap shoot. He only buys OEM for his customer cars.

Nice revive!!! :)

I use Wix bought from O'Reilly's. They have a great cross reference system and can cross just about everything. Or, if your store isn't up to par, Google it.

I love zombies!

I had a 98 dodge that got whatever filter was the cheapest at WalMart. Purolator, fram, whatever. 2$ filter and WalMart or other bulk producer oils.

Sold the truck to work in 2010. It still runs every day on the same food.

Same engine. Has never had a filter or lube failure. Truck is near or past 300k by now on that 5.9 gas engine.

Yup.. All inexpensive oil and filters will fail and are junk. ;)

Don't count out a dealer's price for parts. Just had my wife's truck at the dealer for service. Tech said it needed a new air filter, I said go ahead and put it in. AC Delco air filter at the dealer is $45, Amazon is $55, and O'Reilly's is $70. Complete service for the Duramax including rotating the tires is only $69.99. I can't hardly buy the oil and filter for that price.

Using Wix 51348 on my New Holland. Also fits one of my vehicles and my Kohler Command 23 hp ZTR. Order them from Rockauto by the 12 pack for less than $4 each, free shipping over $50 so get some filters that fit my pickups also.
