I have a Kubota L3400 Hydrostatic Drive with a front loader. I have used my dealer for service oil changes till now. I want to change my own oil and eliminate a trip hauling my tractor to the dealer. What is the recommended engine oil that I should use and where can I get a compatible oil filter other than at the Kubota dealer? I have about 160 hours on my tractor and it is about 8 years old. Thanks.

follow your owners book but I use 17w40 c rated oil NAPA should be able to cross reference the filter

Yep, Make sure its a C rated oil.
Filter can be crossed easily. PH16 fram is a number that works. I wouldnt use the lower end orange fram filters though. Their higher end ones are better, or that number can be crossed to napa/wix.
I think PH7328 is the actual filter that crosses though. The PH16 is just more common and about 1/2" deeper.

I use Kubota oil right now but have used others in the past and probably will in the future, good quality oil is offered by lots of people as mentioned just be sure it meets the specs. I use Kubota filters, but as mentioned you can get filters elsewhere. My dealer offers seasonal discounts once a year and I just get stuff for all our tractors at once to save time. Maintenance on these things is really easy and sure saves time and money.
