I should be punching out for the last time in the next 3 years ... hopefully by age 55.

Holly cow, so young. What do you do?

Taking a long hard look at priorities, perhaps. I know that was the case for me.

I started a window tinting company when I was 18. Been doing it ever since. As well as real estate investment.

Well it seems like you did well. Congratulations! My financial advisor told me to retire years ago but I work out of the house 3 days a week and I can sleep walk through what I do. Plus I have the best boss now that I have ever had. So other than taking up 50 to 60 hours a week, it is easy money. So for now I am working.

Had a good job I enjoyed, but senior management was difficult. They reorganized and managed to abandon a promise to promote me right at the time corporate offered an early retirement option. I am delighted that I shocked them by retiring at 55. Got a good deal, great insurance, and a few years of free lance work. Then I moved to my farm and a small city, went to work in a job I really enjoyed but that paid a lot less. I was lucky as heck. Retired again 10 years later and now just enjoy the farm and getting up when I want.

I think there is a difference between going to work because you have too in order to live your life,
And going to work because you truly enjoy what you are doing..and the money is irrelevant. Once I'm done with this business and job, I'm sure I will tinker with something that actually interests me. Not sure what that will be, maybe buying a few houses to remodel and sell, maybe restoring old Jeeps, .. maybe building hot rod golf carts, ... maybe watching the waves roll in on the beach... not really sure and don't really care at the moment.

Tom: congrats and I retired about that age too. not wealthy by any stretch, but i'm still eating well and a lot less stress. here' a beach I love to watch the storms roll in usually in January and these logs were up against the railing while we were sitting in some comfy chairs. the Oregon Coast has several nice places like this one that are hard to beat in case you might want to fly across the USA one day.

My wife and I just went out to dinner to celebrate my 1 year retirement anniversary!

The year went fast. No regrets what so ever!
