Over a year ago, I started using liquid to shower and wash my hands. It helps prevent my fingers drying out and cracking. The jury's still out on whether it leaves less soap scum in the shower.

To save a few quarters, I tried refilling the pump bottles. No matter how many times I pressed the pump it wouldn't prime. Last week, it came to me that if I squeezed the bottle while I pumped it would force liquid up the straw and prime the pump. This has worked on the two or three bottles I've refilled since.

Most likely I knew this trick before and had forgotten. Many things slip my mind these days.

I use a liquid body soap that comes in a pump bottle. It's my favorite for the scent. I reused one of the bottles and put my favorite shampoo in it. I was able to move the label from the original shampoo bottle to the reused bottle. Helps keep me from mixing them up. I have a rechargeable dispenser for hand soap on the sink counter. You don't even have to push that. It dispenses three different amounts of soap depending on where you place your hand under the spout. (y)
