I had asked, says Kioti advises to weld them there. Says it also mitigates bending the bucket lip by a chain.

I'm getting three (four? I can't remember now!) hooks on my bucket: I've got three on my LA402's bucket. Don't generally pull chain around the bucket lip; I'll curl the bucket down to keep it from rolling the chain over the bucket edge. I'd be afraid to put such strain on a chain that would get anywhere near taxing a KL6010's bucket!
