That explains it... I don't drink Beer, Wine, Bourbon, Coffee or Tea and can hold it a very long time...

Mostly water... maybe a small glass of juice in the morning... the Orange tree is just loaded with Oranges now... and about a half gallon of milk each week...

My vice is a often a glass of soda during lunch on a work day...

No more soda pop for me. Get up to P twice every night. The other thing that I don't do now that I did as a younger man is 'classified' in this family friendly forum.
As for women, I look at them from the neck down. I don't care about the face, I can put a bag over that. lol

Grandfather next door was a doctor. This older couple were constipated so he gave them suppositories.
Next day they came back, now saying not only were they still constipated but they had a lot of pain!
Granddad said he checked them out, they shoved the suppositories up still in their aluminum wrappers.
Another old fellow had prostate trouble, his "valve wasn't shutting off"...so he was dripping. Granddad put a rubber band around his root...guy calls a cab to go home. A while later the guy walks into his office, pants soaked. He said "halfway home the rubber band broke".

I dunno, after a not-so-great first marriage in my 20s, I was single for almost 30 years before meeting my present wife. Had lady friends along the way, but no one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Growing old with someone you connect with is so much nicer than doing it alone, even for a grinch like myself.
I'd skip the dog (more hassle than they're worth IMHO) if I had to be alone again, maybe a cat or two, probably not another relationship...present one would be a tough act to follow.

Getting back OT, one thing I find nice about being in my late 60s is that no one questions it if I play the "old man card" to get out of something I don't want to do. If it's something I do want to do, for the most part I still can, though maybe a bit slower and creakier.

It's all attitude. Years ago a co-worker commented to me that her aunt found turning 80 to be quite liberating. If she had company that didn't catch the hint that it was time to leave, she'd just doze off (or pretend to) in her chair. What might be considered rude in a younger person was seen as "the poor dear, she must be exhausted" at her age. All the while she was thinking "gotcha!". :laughing:

My then 100 year old neighbor was as sharp as could be... her favorite... do not disturb time was Jeopardy and being a school teacher for more than half a century made her sharp as a tack.

One of her pearls of wisdom was her secret to marriage.

Marriage is not finding someone you can live with but finding someone you can't live without...

Many things don't resonate but that phrase is one that stuck... at 100 she was still traveling alone to Hawaii to her Maui Condo... no grandchildren so for her it was the end of the old West Pioneer Stock... original Danish settlers in Nevada.

Her only child never married but was quite accomplished in her career... I will always be grateful for attending her 100th in Reno Nevada... generations of former students...
