Geeez, James.....That is why I never - ever go into Truck or tractor dealerships show rooms...I only go to the parts counter or service area...Thanks for the reminder so I won't forget and do what you did...... I have no resistance to the new smell of a truck or tractor...I know my weakness well....

I am waiting on the call back from the dealer now, to find out just how expensive.. Sure he gave me a price, but the bottom line with the trade of my tractor is the important number.. unless I could sell my bota..outright.

Now you're talking. :cool2: Do the American thing, trade it in and spend a little $$$$$. Help stimulate the economy, don't forget that the DK40SE does not come with Top and Tilt cylinders. :( But I can get you a complete set for only $585 + shipping. ;)

I know what you're feeling Jim. I happened to stop by a Deutz dealership while in New Hampshire. This Agrokid I saw I fell in love with. The thing is a little tank. It even has a "front' differential lock. I cannot get the thing out of my mind. This dealership is about 100 miles away which adds to the absurdity quotient but even that has failed to deter me.

I guess that I'm lucky, the only "real" dealer close to me is a John Deere dealer. They went for over 3 years recently stocking NO tractors and just started having 4 or 5 smaller models on the lot. They are begging me to purchase an M series tractor. Want me to trade in my Mahindra 7520, give me 5k off the price and give me oil just to get a quote. :confused2: I would probably be in BIG trouble if they ever had an 85 or 95 cab on the lot. Good thing no one around here uses tractors that size.

k0ua,

I know what you mean about the loader stick. CK owners....correct if I'm wrong but isn't the stick on the CK bent or have a bend in it? I'd like to have one of those on my DK.:)

Hope you get a good number back on the trade!!!

Now I have went and done it, on the way home today I took a little detour, and paid a visit to a Kioti dealer. Well I just HAD to look at a DK40SE hydrostat model. Big mistake. About the only thing I did not like about that tractor was the fact it did not follow me home. That is one nice tractor. Oh there were a couple of minor things, it might take a day or two to educate my feet to get used to the twin pedal system instead of the single pedal, and the FEL control sorta crowded my right leg when in full curl mode.. do you owners notice any problem with that or am just imagining that? Nothing a little bending of the stick would not fix. It seemed a very comfortable well equipped tractor. Oh well I will just go out and tell my Kubota I still love it, and stop looking at other "dames" but it sure was nice to look and think about all that extra FEL lift.

I know what you feel my friend. Back the begining of nov '11, I dropped in at a New Holland dealership to see what they had in the way of used tractors with FEL. Looked at the Kioti's he had started selling also and unfortunately, or is the fortunately Left $6000 lighter for a down payment on my DS3510.
Must have been the new tractor smell. Got to me.

Well we are at the "dealing" stage,, He has made his offer, and I told him it was not good enough.. and he said he would get back to me Monday, (they close at 2:00Pm )to see if we can come closer together.. I may or may not be a member of the pack soon I just don't know..I am torn with keeping what I have and getting a much nicer tractor with lots more capability.. we shall see.

That's a tough spot. On the one hand, your current tractor will probably do everything you really need it to do. On the other hand, it's only money and you're longing for the tractor of your dreams. On the OTHER other hand, there's only so much money to go around. I struggle with this all the time, except over a new Grand L or Mahindra. Sometimes I look at my tractor and just admire it and have a blast using it. Other times I think "what an inferior hunk of metal! I should really upgrade!" Eventually I will feel like I "know" tractors well enough that I can find the one I want to marry, and then I'm going to go all out and get everything short of a cab (and probably something a little smaller).

I say if it's the one you really want and you can afford it, go for it. You only live once. But I'm still young and maybe restraint is called for. Who knows! Flip a coin! Lol

My dad always says "Do what you want, you'll live longer."

Exciting! I just did my 50hr service and ran all the hydraulic functions and it was satisfying lifting a heaping bucket of wet gravel(~2000lbs) way up with hardly any strain, and then dumping it with a thud!
Not the best reason to get a tractor, but I guess you have lots of work that a bigger machine would be better at?
