Novel update

My novel, Walking Shadow, now has 10 reviews on Amazon and a few elsewhere,
all of which are 4 or 5 stars out of 5. I'm feeling pretty good about that.

I also got a cool review from BookWormSoup.

This is my first blog-type review. Other than that, I致e only received reviews on Amazon etc. although some of those are pretty detailed too (especially Jinman's review).

What's more, for some reason neither my publisher nor I can understand, Amazon is offering the paperback for $1.50 off.

And what's even more, the book will be out in audio (audible.com) in the next couple weeks.

So Cliff, since you're our buddy, give us some inside info. Are you working on another novel yet? Give us a clue. . .

I liked the review by the blind reader who uses a Kindle. I found that review quite perceptive. Audio books on the Kindle are one of my wife's favorite things, and she's not blind. She can read and knit at the same time; overachiever that she is.

There are few things more strange than having your book read
by a voice actor. As I am writing, there is a little voice in
my head that I use to read the text back. This helps me get
a feel for the flow of the text and finds the clunker sentences.
This actor’s voice is very different that that voice, and it is
quite disconcerting. Still, he does a good job, and the second
time I listened to it, it sounded great. The first time, it just sounded
strange.

In general, I like audio books while driving and for listening to while
walking or exercising. I never really thought about how the translation
from text to audio would feel for the author.

OK, I admitt I feel a little betrayed... I'm sitting here holding my credit card, thinking I would be ordering the sequel.

Ah well, I thank you for the update... just last weekend I was looking at your book and wondering how it/you were doing.

Mixed feelings on the movie contract... it's always nice to see somebody like you succeed in their dreams... :thumbsup: yet Hollywood always ruins a good theme... and I would hate to see Bob Segar sell out again... although he and Bob Dylan are the only singer's good enough to do justice to your book. .

Sorry, the sequel isn't written as yet.

I'm actually working on a novel set in a different venue, as well as a few short stories. I'll keep the tractor crown up to date.
