Re: Notice stated "You have been unsubscribed from this thread"

It would be nice if obnoxious members could be voted out of a thread somehow. That thread should have just been pruned with a warning to knock off the nasty stuff.
I recommended the same... It's usually the same people....

Also would like to know how it turns out.

Well, I was bummed the thread got locked and I also hope he updates us on what is going on.

I have to say I was a bit surprised things got heated. This is easily the most civil forum I have ever posted on.

There was one individual, who has a history of been a very crude with his language, who started off with his potty mouth in the thread. Within a very short time frame, the mods pruned the thread of at least two of his posts (maybe more) but I suspect that they gave up and realized that they could not let it continue. Yes I really enjoyed the thread and was watching to see where it was going. The OP, Dave (dbpilot) seems like an individual who had a plan and it was interesting to see how it worked out.

The poster that I refer to and several others are guilty of being derogative and use crude language very frequently in another sub-forum here on TBN and it seems to be accepted by the mods and the owner in that sub-forum. He (the bad poster) screwed up a good thread.
I do not understand how this individual's behavior continues to be tolerated. Maybe he has been warned and maybe not. If it was my forum I would have warned him several times and then banned him. He is not an individual who's language should be tolerated and his insinuations are beyond crude and rude as well.
It is not my forum however so my opinion is not important.

It is the owners choice as to how he runs his forum/business and what behavior he and his mods accept. We are only visitors to the forum.

The Boy Scout thread I was unsubscribed from was kind of resurrected and was much calmer. Not quite the "spirited" conversation it was though. Sometimes, it is hard to squelch a passionate opinion. No need to be rude or crude.

It is sad in this day and time we find civil conversation is so rare. If you don't fully agree with me you must be some type of idiot it seems is many peoples attitude. It is sad too many think the only way you can be friends with someone is that agree with you 100% of the time. Wow that would be boring. No one would learn near as much. One of the best ways to learn something is to argue the pros of a position you disagree with.

And the impersonalization (if that is a word) of the internet has made it worse. It is too easy for many personalities to flame someone without so much as ever seeing them. That was not being a man where I grew up.

I agree, with type hard to tell how a person might have meant something. When talking our voice inflection can mean a lot: I can call my friend a sorry dog talking and he will laugh. I can type that say here and it totally comes across as an insult. One thing I do not like about texting.
