Dealer picked up the unit today. They said Kubota would cover everything. We will see if that holds true. I am in hopes that they will say what the issue is and if they do, I'll post it here.

Indeed.
Members here need to know that this was not an isolated incident.
The best way to resolve this is for as many people with the same problem to compare circumstances that led up to the failure.
We know that ttowne66 had 150 hours and the machine was used for grooming snow.
If we could find out what led to the other failures we could possibly find a solution~!

No Brian, I think he was talking about the posts in the thread.

A la this-

We have a dealer west of here, that has sold 7 sets of tracks and will not sell anymore. They have had troubles with the hubs also. I don't think they have all been 1100's but I don't really know for sure.

Some of the machinces have been underwarrenty. Kubota says the problem is because of the tracks and won't cover it, and Maxxis won't do anything because it is a Kubota part that is failing. The dealer is stuck with the problem.

Hey Gents

Could a some of you with decent hours of hard work pull a wheel and check your units for wear? I'd certainly appreciate it as I am sure others would too. At the least I think owners would want to look at these before warranty runs out anyways.

Tom

I am going by to look at the RTV 1100 today. I will talk to the service guys and see if they have seen any issues, etc.

As I was having coffee in the diner this morning and kicking the stripped spline around I really thing it is a torque problem and I am sure that mine is doing it also. The added torque of the tracks or the power it takes to turn them. The heavy equipment guys say that any spline will do that. Hydraulic pumps are notrious for it. They say that there is a bit of movement there and every few month it should be lubed. One guy said that the front mount hyd pump on his skidder did the same thing.

I don't know how the tracks mount, are the pieces in the picture in the original post that are stripped, both Kubota parts or is the female part the drive for the Mattracks? Does the Mattracks bolt to the bolts that hold the original wheel on the RTV?

My Soucy tracks bolt right to the brake drums just like the wheel would. I think that Mattracks do the same. I am sure the pic shows the axel and the brake drum, both Kubota.
