Buying Advice not sure

Im looking at buying a small diesel tractor the guy tells me is Japanese but it looks like a ford 1000 there is no lettering on the tractor so i guess im asking for help determing what this is. Is there a place to call or a web site to punch in numbers? ???

remember.. the ford 1000 was a shibarau made unit.. ie.. a jap compact...
