Recently put money to hold a jd 4320 (48 hp) hydrostatic with cab and 400x loader with 650 hrs. It is in excellent condition but I live in the pacific northwest and the used market for good equipment is not great. The prices are considerably higher than what I see in the East and Midwest. The seller would not come off of 28,500. Is this a reasonable price
Thank you

Have you priced a new one (apples to apples)? IMO, that price doesn't sound too far out of line.:2cents:

Rockgod,
Thank you for your opinion. "not too far out of line" is the $28,500 ? If I take this I also need a snowblower and there is a used one for sale which is a front end for $5,000, but the local jd dealership wants $700- $1000, to customize vs a rear pull which ultimately will cost about $ 6400. I would very much like your opinion.
Thanks
TJ

tjt35,

Since you desire a front snow blower, does it have the mid PTO? If not, might want to check how difficult to install and price to install.

Perhaps you can call a dealer a bit further away. Give them the story you're planning on selling the tractor to a neighbor and inquiring what a fair price would be. They might give you a range to compare against this asking price.

Moship,
Thank you for the insight. The 2 snowblowers I am looking at both attach to the rear pto (both are Erskine). Any thoughts

TJ,

I thought your previous post stated "snowblower and there is a used one for sale which is a front end for $5,000". In any case what size rear snowblower are you looking at for these prices?

My previous tractor had a rear mounted 3-pt snowblower (60") that worked great, but required driving in reverse all the time. Of course the tractor your inquiring can handle something much wider. Operating in reverse became uncomfortable and prompted me to purchase the setup in my signature... There is no way I'd SB in reverse if you can afford it. (I bought the blower set-up used).

Perhaps others who have used a rear pull will comment, but blowing snow once it has been compacted by the tractor tires isn't as clean versus uncompacted snow.

Used 3-pt SB's can be found fairly reasonable if your patient. I bought mine used in WI and had it trucked to PA without ever having personally seeing it.
