Not on TBN, and not on the tractor-- what do you do?

ya know as we wind down the 2 Million post contest and need a topic to carry us forward....
I thought about this....

What do you do with your time for hobbies etc?

Discounting time with kids, grandkids and the significant other--- what do you do for fun??

tell us some stories!!!


I'll start---
Let's see in no particular order:

1. hiking
2. camping
3. long country rides.
4. ride the ATV
5. shooting what ever I can-- spud cannon to big bore anything---
Recent favorites--- Remington 700 and the eagle 50 cal...
6. sitting on the porch
7. grilling out
8. snow skiing
9. fishing
10. wood working--- hey I just got my new table saw--
BOY that new box sure is calling to be opened!!!
11. listening to soft country music and classic rock....
12. Movie buff--- WWII stuff all the way to Sci fi



Well there are a few thoughts....

-In the fall and winter I cut firewood, I enjoy it for the most part.
-yard work, gardening w/out the tractor
-piddlin in garage
-detail my cars

I hear that. Down to three dogs, eight cats (where do they all come from?) and twelve horses. I guess the hobby is enjoying a cold one when darkness gets to setting in and I need to sit and relax or is that catch my breath before going in for the night.

I've been told that i make real good jerky, i do about 5lbs every 2 weeks. . . give a lot of it away. I also enjoy doing steaks, and pork tenderloin. I do a pretty good fajita. i also like to experiment with different foods, my kids fav. is what we call lizard tails.(thin cut chicken breast strips, with a strip of ham laid on top, add a dab of herb cream cheese, roll into a ball wrap in bacon soak in soak in teriyaki and Italian dressing for an hr and grill) :licking::licking::lickingr my loaded meatloaf ( on wax paper roll out your seasoned ground meat, add a layer of ham, and then a layer of cheese, roll into a log seal the ends and pour ketchup over the top. bake in the oven) and i love to cook any type of breakfast food.

last October we went to NC and did the whole Blue Ridge Park way with the Kids, they loved sliding rock, we went further north and did the Nantahala 4 times in 2 days, that was a blast. was the 2nd time my kids went rafting. Wife and i have done the French Broad 4 times, Nantahala 5 times the Jim Thorpe 1, Chattahoochee 2, and the okatoma 8,. The kids love it. I'd like try kayaking but the wife thinks its too risky.

We have skied breckenridge, and keystone multiple times, i also have skied the dolomites in italy, as well as the skiwelt in austria. Last time we went skiing my wife tore her acl (5/6 years ago) and haven't been skiing since then, although my brother just moved to CO so we started planing a trip for 2011. but we'll see.
