Here's sumpin to ponder ...

After WWII there were over 200 independent civil aviation manufacturers in the US - the thinking was, based on the incredible advances of propelled flight technology resulting from the military industrial complex, that small fixed wing airplanes would replace the automobile for personal transportation.

It failed because 1. it was generally a bad idea and 2. product liability insurance.

I learned to fly anyway.

You are right and OLD. They also made an airplane, radios, and referigerators. There was a guy who drove one of those to school in the 50's..
